My wife and I went to 近江町市場　(おうみちういちば), this is one of the most exciting fish market we had visited so far in Japan. There are so many good restaurants inside the market, but be ready to line up. We went to 市の蔵　(いちのくら), this restaurant open at 11am, but recommend to line up earlier. Their special version kaisen don is definitely one of the best I had tried in Japan. We also like about their private room setting. Highly recommend if you would want to sit comfortably inside a cool room, and don’t have time to line up for those in the market.

Normal food. Nothing special, Tons of rules and you can sit on tatami. Yeah it just typical japanese restaurant.

The amount of fish is very limited in all main dishes (small portion of food compared to similar restaurants in the same area). Rude staff. The sashimi set, the largest, had some pieces that were good and unique but overall is a 2/5 experience.

This place to little bit expensive but you can taste variety of sushi dishes. When we visited there, it was very crowded but service was great.

Right next to the fish market on the 2nd floor! Was so cheap for lunch only 1000 yen for the photo below. Really nice aesthetics all around. Many people were drinking sake and beer during lunch so it seemed like a chill place
